Daggone Dang It!
Say it with us!
Daggone Dang It!
Say it louder!
Daggone Dang It!
(to the rhythm from Dora).
----Chloe
(P.S. Does anyone know the proper spelling of "daggone"? It seems it is a high frequency word here on this blog and it's time I learned to spell it.)
**Spelling edited according to the Urban Dictionary's proclamation.
You daggon right! 1
*Pronounced Day-gone* (But that's not really how I say it. Am I not southern enough?)
Used in the south, this expression can be said for three circumstances:
1) When something is definetly true, correct, or exciting
2) Said after disbelief or shock
3) Owning up to something
1) "Man you were on fire the other day!"
"You daggon right"
2) "Bob died the other night"
"You daggon right?"
3) "Did you finish the project?"
"You daggon right!"
Wait! WAIT! Wait just a cotton pickin' minute! I think I had the wrong daggone slang word. This is more like it:
Country word enthusiastically expressing disgust and/or surprise. Closly related to "dadgum"
Been pickin' taters all day and still gotta bail the hay...Daggone!!
Daggone!! Thats the ugliest baby I've ever seen!!
Or possibly:
A polite way of saying "a really, really bad and ugly word that I would never ever say that starts with our Lord's name"
I stepped in the dogs daggone poop.
Or even:
Something important that is constantly acting up or having to be dealt with. Mel Kiper's favorite word.
Trade messes up my daggone top 10!
I was not, however, aware of this definition:
When you want to let all of your buddies know that a hot ass girl just walked into the room without her knowing.
"Hey Tommy, did you get those Daggone TPS reports done yet?"
Or this one:
When you see a hot ass girl and you want to compliment her without her knowing.
When she walks by you say "Daggone it's hot out here!"
Wonder what that says about me? Well, daggone it!
Very official definitions all courtesy of Urban Dictionary.
Now to re-edit my original post. Glad I got that all cleared up.

Weight Loss Check In
I lost 2.8 pounds last week, bringing my total so far to almost 10 pounds. I also completed week 9 of C25K and even did an "extra run" outside to see how hard it would be in the beautiful weather we had on Sat.
That's the good news.
And then, on Friday we ordered in for lunch and although I "planned" to eat really healthy, they accidentally put fried chicken on salad instead of grilled which pretty much used all my points for the day. We ate dinner at Cracker Barrell. I had a tossed salad (none of the good stuff) with fat free dressing and a bowl of vegetable soup. And Saturday we had friends over and had lots of appetizer type food. I did my best to eat very small quantities of the most healthy choices.
BUT, I still gained 2 pounds between Friday morning and this morning:(. SO frustrating!! Why does it take SO much work to lose 2 measly pounds and nothing at all to put them right back on? They say you have to eat an excess of 3500 calories to gain a pound. Well, not me. I know there is no way I ate that much extra, let alone 7000 extra calories and yet, there those two pounds are. I know some of it is probably because eating out caused me to eat more sodium than I'm used to eating, but still the pounds are there.
I am trying to get back on track. I even turned down birthday cake at my granddaddy's 93rd birthday party today. But, I doubt I will have a loss this week. If I can get those two pounds back off and get back to where I was Friday morning, I'd be ok.
Oh, and I am totally having to fight those cravings big time!! We have a couple of brownies left over and those and the Doritos and Tostitos in the pantry are calling my name. Uugh!
Oh, and did I mention... running outside? Totally kicked my booty. I've got a lot of work to do! It was so hard. The wind resistance and the hills make a HUGE difference. I only made it about 1.75 miles before I felt I would DIE. But, that's ok. I know I need to work on the transition and I can do it.
It's a new week. I can do this. I am strong. I am dedicated. I am better than those brownies.
I've got work to do this week.
We'll see what happens.
That's the good news.

Snowmegeddon 2011
The week before last we had 5, count 'em, FIVE snow days! We had close to six inches of snow which is more than our children have ever seen in their lifetimes. So, of course we enjoyed it to the fullest!!
(The last Christmas wreath did get taken down over the "break":).
I'm going to attempt to post more of our snowy adventures in reverse order, so you should be able to scroll down to see more snowy fun!
Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Morning
All ready for snow day #2.
The second day the snow was much better for snowman making. Unfortunately, our snowman never got "dressed" because we were distracted by all of the animal tracks we found in the snow.
By the creek.
This led to a snowy hike in the woods looking for animals in the midst of God's beauty.
It was amazing.
But I had promises to keep. And miles to go before I sleep.
And miles to go before I sleep.
After our hike we enjoyed another day of sledding, but this time I left the camera in the car and had fun!
