Head Circumference: 17 1/4 inches (25th%)

Loves:
Swimming in pool, playing with sister, cruising around the furniture, Hudson, Bubba, getting in Hudson's dog food, playing pat-a-cake, cherries, watermelon, macaroni and cheese, getting into the cabinets and drawers in the kitchen.

Hates:
Wearing bows, cutting fingernails or toe nails, laying down for diaper changes, having something taken away, being told no.

Does:
Points, waves, shakes head no, communicates with whines and grins, cruises, walks behind toys, climbs stairs.

Says:
We think we've heard "all done" once or twice, but mostly just the same words and lots of facial expressions to communicate.

Eats:
Pretty much eating the same foods as last month. Mommy's milk still 4-6 times a day. You've been "asking" for it more often. We are trying whole milk, but you are not very interested.

Sleeps:
Still a challenge! Naps are better though, you take either 2 that last an hour or more or 1 that lasts 2+ hours.

Favorite Memories from this Month:
Definitely your sweet smile lighting up and your giggling and playing. You are becoming quite mischievous and love to play, for me to chase you, tickle you, etc. You are starting to test us, for example, throwing food off your high chair. You are so cute though that it is hard to to tell you no with a straight face. You almost scared me to death this month when I suddenly found you half-way up the stairs one day. I have also loved swimming and playing in the pool with you. I love pretty much everything about you and have had so much fun being off from work with you this month and spending every day with you. It is almost time to go back to work and for you to start daycare, so I'm trying soak up every last second.

Happy Birthday, sweet girl! We love you!

Not a big fan of taking pictures.

Definitely not a big fan of the bow in your hair.

Length: 27 inches (25%)
Head Circumference: 16 3/4 inches (20%)

Loves:
Playing with Chloe, Playing Pat-a-cake, Granddaddy's horses, being outside, juice, cereal with fruit, "Sweet Caroline", when Mommy picks her up.

Hates:
Food with texture (gag), being told "no", strangers, teething.

Army crawls, rocks on hands and knees, motions "come", picks finger foods up but won't eat them, claps, plays pat-a-cake.

Says:
Mama!! Dada, Bubba

Teeth:
Bottom two teeth

Eats:
Mommy's milk 5 times a day, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Baby food- any fruit, all veggies (but only a few bites of peas), some meat combos (chicken and apples, turkey and rice, chicken and vegetable, vegetable beef). All types of cereal. Yogurt.

Sleeps:
You've mostly been sleeping all night. About 11 hours at night and then two naps a day that last anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour and a half.

Favorite Memories From Your 9th Month:
You saying Mama! I love to hear your little voice say my name. I also love it when you get really excited when you see me and start bouncing and smiling and when you reach your arms up to me. You love to play play pat-a-cake and will clap your hands to tell us to play. I also love looking at your little smile with your two little teeth. It is fun to see your personality start to develop and I love watching you learn and grow. It's a little bittersweet because you continue to become more independent and less snuggly and cuddly. As I watch you rock on your hands and knees, I know you are right on the cusp of taking off and being on the move!

6 Month Check-up

We took some pictures to send to Chloe at Caroline's 6 month check-up. She did great, but of course broke my heart with her shots. She handled them better this time though, and didn't seem to feel bad at all afterwards.

Finally a smile again after those mean old shots.

Happy Half-Birthday! Six Months

Stats:
Weight on 1/14/16: 16 pounds 12 oz

At 6 month visit on 2/8/16:
Weight: 17 pounds 6 oz 50-75%
Length: 26 1/2 inches 25%
Head Circumference: 16 1/4 inches 25%

Loves:
Jumping in your jumper, Chloe, laughing, being talked to, playing on floor, being naked before your bath, giving momma sweet kisses, hearing "Sweet Caroline", toys, eating, cereal, splashing, sitting (with support), riding in stroller on walks, sitting in your high chair.

Hates:
Honestly there's not much you hate these days. You are really, really happy right now. You get grumpy if you are tired or if you are not getting attention when you want it.

Does:
Jumps, sits with support, plays with toys, puts everything in your mouth, gags yourself with your hands/fingers, rolls both ways, inches around on tummy, puts paci back in, babbles with a few consonant sounds.

Eats:
Mommy's milk every 3 hours (bottles while mommy works, rice cereal and avocado at night time. You started some cereal about a week before you turned 6 months and the 2nd food we tried was avocado. It took you a few times to get used to the spoon and not spit it back out, but you are are getting much better. You like both foods, but like cereal more. You don't like it much if it gets cold.

Sleeps:
In your crib!! Mommy moved you to your crib about a week before you turned 6 months. You had still been waking up quite a bit at night, so we decided to try an earlier bedtime in your bed. I planned to bring you back into my room when you started waking up, but you did great! Now, you are sleeping from about 7:30-8:00 until around 6 during the week and 7-8 on the weekends. You still wake up once to eat most nights and sometimes you wake up right when I'm getting up to eat again, but you sleep great in your bed in between. We've had a few nights where you didn't wake at all!

Favorite Memories From Your 6th Month:
There were lots of great memories this month. You celebrated your first Christmas, which was a special time for us. I guess I am still mostly just loving all the snuggles you give. You love to give me kisses. You give me huge smiles afterward. You snuggle in to me when I hold you. I love for you to nap in my arms on the couch. Love hearing you squeal with delight and kick your little legs. You are so sweet and precious and I know you are right on the cusp of starting to sit and crawl, which will mean you won't want to be held as much. So, I'm savoring every snuggle I get.
