Still My Baby

It's the little things that sometimes hit you from out of nowhere and remind you of what used to be. This morning I went in to wake Chloe up for school, like I do every morning. I turned on her light and said, "Good morning, Chloe, time to get up." And then I watched as she rolled on her back and she stretched her arms over her head and drew her legs up in a little ball and pursed her little lips together. The tiniest little bubble formed on her lips as she stretched. And right then and there I was transported in time. I saw my baby in the pack n' play by my bed, stretching in just that way. And blowing those bubbles from those same little pursed lips. And it reminded me, no matter how big she gets, she is still my baby. I will always love my precious little baby.

All I Want for Christmas...

Chloe lost her two front teeth, but not exactly by choice. She and Evan were jumping on the trampoline when suddenly chaos broke out. It seems Evan was "pretending" to kick Chloe and Chloe accidentally jumped toward the kick causing Evan to actually kick her in the mouth. One (already loose) tooth was knocked out and the other (not as loose, but still loose) tooth was just barely hanging. After she calmed down a little bit, she allowed us to pull the other tooth as well. So, unless some new teeth come in before Christmas, Chloe will have to be asking for her two front teeth from Santa this year!

I love the two missing front teeth, I can't lie. It was one of my favorite stages with Evan, too!

First Day of 1st and 4th Grade

Evan and Chloe are beginning 1st and 4th grade this year. Chloe will have Mrs. Rust and Evan will have Mrs. Dongarra and Mrs. Wright. This is Evan's last year in elementary school. Gulp! Where has the time gone!

I swear just yesterday we were here:

Just starting kindergarten. I can't believe this is Evan's last year at Eaton. I don't feel nervous about him making the move to middle school like most parents do because it is familiar territory to me and I know his dad is there, but I still can't believe it!

Official Election Day

I had to go officially vote for Matthew even though he was running unopposed. So excited for him to begin this adventure.
