This Is the Day that the Lord Has Made

I will REJOICE and be GLAD in it!

Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." Matthew 19:14

Our beautiful Chloe was baptized today. A couple of weeks ago, she asked me to pray with her to become a Christian after several weeks of questions and discussions on the topic. I knew this decision might come pretty soon after Evan was baptized and I prayed that she would understand the decision she was making. Six is pretty young to fully understand, but it seems that she does. She wanted to go talk to Pastor Chris about being baptized as soon as possible. I love this girl and I pray that she continues to grow in her relationship with Jesus Christ all of her life. I am so grateful for a God who loves us enough to provide a way to be forgiven of our sins and to return to Him. It is such a comfort to know that our entire family will be together in Heaven for eternity.

We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. Romans 6:4

The Secret is Out!

sweet baby legs!
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. Psalm 139:13

After the first of the year, we had our 12 week ultrasound and nuchal fold translucency test. Baby looked great! We decided it was time to share our big news and the first people who need to know were Evan and Chloe.

Having just celebrated Christmas, we decided one more present would be the way we would tell them. We wrapped up the ultrasound pictures and told them there was one more present. There was some confusion at first, as they tried to figure out what the pictures were all about. Evan guessed it was pictures of them and we said, nope, it's not you. Suddenly it dawned on him. Both kids were big smiles and hugged both of us, but then it started to sink in a little.

Sinking in for Chloe meant elation!

"I have ALWAYS wanted to be older than someone! I have waited forever for this!"

"Baby's going to love Hudson!"

"I'm going to run right into school and say, I'm going to have a sibling!"

And lots of squealing were some of Chloe's comments.

Evan handled the news a little differently. Through his big smile were some of the funniest comments I think I've ever heard.

"I have an empty pit in my stomach. Like all my hopes of having a fun summer just went away. I'll be downstairs playing games and you'll say, "Evan! Come up here and clean whatever his name is."

"Oh, I didn't even think about throw up. oh."

"If I don't act normal at the start of middle school, you'll know why. I've seen too much."

"Good-bye childhood."

Evan was very worried about having to change diapers and Chloe assured him that he would have to be the one to do it because she didn't know how!

He did start to become a little more excited when he started thinking of buying it things and teaching it things.

We are so happy to have our secret out and get to share in the excitement with the kids!
