I Can See Clearly Now
We had been noticing that Miss Caroline tended to hold some things really close to her face... like books or our phones if she was playing with them. They had also mentioned at daycare that they had noticed her holding things close to her face as well. In addition, I began to think I was noticing one eye turning in a little bit (but it was hard to tell for sure). I mentioned these things to Dr. Blevins at her 18 month check-up, but he felt like it was just her way of concentrating and did not see the turning in. A couple of week later, the Lion's Club came to her daycare and did a screening. We received a letter that they recommended that we take Caroline to an ophthalmologist. So, we took her to a pediatric ophthalmologist, which was truly amazing to see how they checked her eyes. We found out that her eye was in fact turning in (strombosis) and that she was pretty severely near-sighted (prescription of -10). She needed glasses!

This is leaving the office after picking up her glasses. She would have nothing to do with them! |

Still not too cooperative |

Finally, she decided she would wear them. So cute! |

She put them on for the first time in a shoe store. I got some cute video of her reaction. |
