Groundhog Day

Here is a little glimpse of several hours of my day yesterday:

Chloe: Will you put her diaper on, pweese?
Me: (put the diaper on the baby)
Chloe: Thank you, can I take it off?
Me: Sure.
Chloe: Will you put her diaper on, pweese?
Me: (puts the baby's diaper on)
Chloe: Thank you, can I take it off?
Me: Yes, you can take it off.
Chloe: Will you put her diaper on, pweese?

I think you can see where this is going. Ever seen the movie, Groundhog Day? Life with a 2 year old can feel like that movie sometimes. Two year olds love to do things again and again and again.... and again.

This morning we spent two hours like this:

Chloe: Put your hands out. Feed the baby her milk. Now her juice. Good job, Mommy. Now give her to me. I feed her.
Me: Good job, Chloe. Can you burp her? Oh (giggle at her burping sound) that was a good one.
Chloe: Put your hand out. Feed the baby her milk. Now her juice....etc, etc.

But, if I have to relive the exact same moments over and over again.... I can't imagine better moments to be reliving.

Isn't she a sweet little mommy? Can you believe her daddy would deny her the opportunity to be a big sister? I mean, obviously, she'd be so much help that caring for a baby wouldn't be hard at all! Oh dear, on second thought, after looking at that last picture we may have to discuss the capabilities of babies' legs. I don't think they are supposed to bend that way:).

If you haven't already... keep scrolling down and look at the other posts I put up today. You might have to click on "older posts" at the bottom... I am getting caught up.

Cousins

We had a wonderful cookout at my mom and Lynn's for Father's Day. The entire family does not get together very often so it was nice for all of the cousins to get to play.

Butterfly

Chloe loves butterflies right now. She loves to watch them, chase them, try to catch them, study them, read about them, see them on TV... you get the picture. So, I decided to make them the theme of her 2nd birthday party. She has had so much fun playing with her huge butterfly balloon since the party. I don't know what we will do when the helium runs out. She loves to catch it and then let it go and watch it fly...

Fly away little butterfly!

Chloe's Big Day!

We celebrated Chloe's second birthday party on Saturday, June 19 with lots of friends and family. We have had outdoor birthday parties at home every year except for Evan's fifth birthday this year and it has never rained. So, we were due a rainy party and we got one. The kids had a few minutes to play outside before the storm came and we had to move the party indoors. It was chaotic and crowded and I was very worried someone would get injured in the playroom, but it worked out just fine. I am so very grateful for all the people who came to celebrate my baby's 2nd birthdy, many from several hours away. It made it so special to have everyone here. Chloe had a blast and it was fun to see her relish all the attention. Being the second child, she is somewhat used to the day being about someone else or at the least, sharing the spotlight... but today it was all about her! Happy birthday, baby! I hope you had a wonderful party.
