Evan's First Field Trip

I accompanied Evan's class (along with every other parent of a kindergartener from Eaton Elementary School, LOL) to the Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch at the Mayfield Farm this month. It was so much fun! I loved not being the teacher on the field trip!!

Evan was so excited about his first field trip. He could not wait to ride the bus and have fun with his friends. I think the day lived up to all of his expectations! He is already looking forward to the next one.

Pony Fun!

Evan had so much fun at his friend Hadley's birthday party earlier this month! It was at The Pony Place. It was definitely a hit!

Happy Halloween!!

Happy Halloween! Minnie Mouse and Indiana Jones had a wonderful time trick-or-treating last night. We were so lucky that Granddaddy Ben, Grandmother, and Granddaddy came to hand out candy at our house to the hundreds of trick-or-treaters that came through our neighborhood so we could visit our neighbors. As tradition mandates, we enjoyed yummy chili and just had a great time seeing all the little ghouls!

And the North Panthers won the State Championship again this year! Matthew was sad that he had to miss Halloween again (he was really happy it was on Sunday, but then our mayor said we had to trick-or-treat on Sat.), but it was fun to WIN!

Halloween in Kindergarten

A couple of weeks ago we went in search of an Indiana Jones jacket and satchel to go with the other things we had bought at Disney for him to wear for Halloween. Well, while at the store he saw an Anakin Skywalker costume that he just absolutely had to have. He was certain he did not want to be Indy anymore. So we bought it. Well, for school, they were not allowed to wear a mask so he decided to be Indy at school... and that was the end of that. Indiana it was. So, now we've got an Anakin Skywalker costume at home for next year:) (Yeah right).

 I got to go to Evan's Halloween party at school during my planning period. It was so nice!

The kids were all in little centers while the teachers calmly put food out. The funny thing is when I walked in Evan's teacher said, "I'm sorry it's crazy in here. But, it's Halloween in kindergarten."

Coming from the chaos and mayhem at the middle school on Halloween? Where I had literally deposited an 11 year old who was wailing at the top of his lungs that he wanted his sharpie back (this is not the norm for middle schoolers, thank goodness) in the office on my way over?

Halloween in kindergarten was heaven! I never wanted to leave!

Disney 2010, The Last Night: There's No Place Like Home

Unfortunately, Chloe woke up throwing up in the middle of the night on our last night at Disney. It was really bad. We had to call housekeeping and they had to bring biohazard bags to haul our bedding off and totally change our bed. I had just gotten Chloe out of the tub and into the fresh clean bed, when she did it again!

Matthew had to go to the laundry and wash her pink blankie at like 2:00 a.m. and the poor thing woke every few hours throwing up. Luckily we had learned our lesson and had towels all around her and a garbage can nearby.

She was a little better by morning. She didn't throw up anymore the entire ride home, but she sure was pitiful. I do have to say, that our kids timed their illnesses well... Evan the night before we left and he was better by the time we arrived and Chloe on our last night there. Thank goodness neither were sick during our trip. That would have been a real bummer!

The ride home was quiet indeed! These kids were worn out!

It was a wonderful vacation, but there's no place like home!

Disney 2010 Day 4 Continued: Splash!

After resting for a while, we headed out to enjoy the pool at our resort. We stayed at the Caribbean Beach Resort and it was really fun! We loved our rooms and they had little beaches where the kids could play in the sand, playgrounds, and this awesome pool!

 The thing about this kiddie play area was that that big barrell on top would constantly fill with water and then dump. Like every 5 minutes. And it scared our kids to death, LOL. The first time Evan didn't really know what was going on. Matthew told him to stand right there...

 and then he realized what was happening and booked it out of there!

 The slides were fun...

 But it put you right in the perfect spot to....

 Yup, get water dumped on your head!

 They also had this bigger pool. It also had some slides.

 But, Chloe preferred the ones on the kiddie part.

Finally the kids had had enough and the sun was setting and they were getting cold, so we got some yummy pizza and headed back to our room for our last night....
