Feel Better
This morning when we were all snuggling in the bed after the kids woke up, Matthew started wrestling around with the kids. He would pull Chloe's pajama bottoms down and she would get so mad! She'd look at me with the biggest look at surprise and say "Oh NOOOO! Daddy pull pants off!" I'd pull them back up and she'd look at Evan and say "Big hug, Bubba!". He'd give her a hug and she'd say, "I feel better mama".
When Matthew would wrestle with Evan, Chloe would give him a hug and say, "I make Bubba feel better mama".
They are so cute together. Chloe often says, "Love you, Bubba", just spontaneously now and gives him hugs. She will say, "I miss Bubba!" when we get there to pick him up on the days he has been to school. And if he gets upset about something, she will comfort him.
Evan is sweet with her as well. He will tone down his fighting so he can "fight" with her. He will "read" her stories... he loves the fact that she has no idea if he is telling the story right or not. He plays dolls with her and will cook in her kitchen with her. And he is always telling her she is "cute" and "pretty". He reminds me often that they have a class at his school for babies Chloe's age. He said he thought she would have fun playing with all of the other babies and he would take care of her and make sure she was alright. He also told me the other day that he wishes I would pick Chloe up first and then pick him up because everyone else always has their babies there and he wants all his friends to see his baby sister.
I love their relationship. It is so precious to me. They rarely have any arguments or fights (which I know will still probably change). They really seem to love each other so much. I hope it always stays that way.
One funny thing, Evan asked this morning why she always calls him "brother" (what she is saying when she says bubba) instead of "Evan". I said well, when she was a baby I guess we would call you that to her and that is just what she started saying. Matthew asked him if he would rather her call him "Evan" and he said yes.
So, I looked at Chloe and said, "Can you say, Evan? Bubba's name is "Evan". And she looked at Evan and said, "Hi, "Vava". And then went right back to calling him Bubba.
Evan said, "I think she needs a little more lessons on saying "Evan".
I'm afraid Evan may forever be "Bubba" to Chloe.

Where a Kid Can Be a Kid!
We met Grammy, Brian, Beth, and Oliver at Chuck E. Cheese last week for pizza and games. It was Chloe's first visit and she seemed to enjoy it. When I was getting her ready for bed that night she said, "I ha fun Chu-E-Cheese, Momma!"

Mean As a Snake
Daddy: (said sweetly to Chloe as I change her wet pajamas) What happened, Chloe, did your pajamas get wet?
Chloe: Ehh! Ahh! (pushes him away in obvious annoyance)
Daddy: I love you Chloe, do you love Daddy?
Chloe: Ehh! Ahhh! (pushes him away again)
Daddy: (still in a sweet voice) Are you mean as a snake?
Chloe: Sssssssssssss!

Hello Spring!
This weekend
we opened up our windows and said,
Hello Spring!
We let the sunshine in
and let it all hang out... "Hi guys!"
and it was glorious!
We basked in the sun under the crystal blue sky...
and our souls rejoiced!
It was a great weekend to go for a Gator ride with batman.... the black Spiderman (the distinction is important) past our dead, I mean, dormant Red Tips.
Don't worry, our grass is just dormant, too. It'll come back. I promise. At least I hope so.
I know he makes me feel safer, especially when he webs like that.
I'll stand barefoot in my own front yard with a baby on my hip....sing with me. And don't worry, she's not really barefoot. It wasn't that warm.
What a good big brother! He was attempting to show Chloe how fun her 4-wheeler is, but it didn't work. She is still scared of it.
Sunshine on a big pink bow... is there a sweeter sight?
Well, hello friend! We have not seen our shadows in months! Isn't that the most adorable shadow you've ever seen?
Seriously.
Taking the Big Wheel for a spin. Yes, Matthew and I are trying to relive our childhoods vicariously through the toys we buy our children. We both have fond memories of our Big Wheels. Evan is not that impressed with it so far. We should have learned our lesson since his spring horse that we bought him because we both loved ours so much now sits in the closet untouched.

When I got to preschool to pick Evan up from school on Friday, his class was on the playground. I found the outer shell of his jacket as I gathered up his backpack. When I went outside I immediately saw the liner and gathered it up. I spotted Evan slipping into the tunnel and snuck up on him. When I peeked through the hole I saw my little boy laying on his back with hands behind his head and looking up through the holes in the top of the tunnel. When I said, "Boo!" his entire face lit up in a huge smile.
Miss Kathy saw me with his parts of his jacket while I waited on him to come down from the playground. She said, "He's been shedding his jacket piece by piece. He told me he had two shirts on and I remembered he showed me his pajamas under his pants earlier, so I figured he'd be warm enough."
I blushed. Yes, Evan pretty much wears his pajamas under his clothes everyday to school. It's just a fight that is not worth having that early in the morning. Who cares if he wears his pajamas?
I explained this to her and she laughed and said, "I just thought, It's just Evan. If it were any other kid I might be surprised..."
When I told Matthew our secret was out, he said, "What did she mean by, It's just Evan."
I said, well, I'm not sure. Maybe he's a little different from other kids. He's unique.
What do you think she meant?

It's just Evan. He is an individual from the way he dresses to the funny things he says. There are so many things about him that are unique and special. He is amazing. We love our little unique individual and we are so very proud of him! I hope he continues to march to his own beat his entire life through!
