Evan had another great season with Upward basketball and he and his dad survived another year of dad coaching. Evan did great this year. It is so strange how it seems like just yesterday I was just praying he might make a basket for the entire season and now he is scoring tons of points every game. It is so fun to see him improve in his activities, but mostly I just really like to see him have fun playing.
Chloe decided to play basketball this year instead of cheerleading. She had a tough time deciding. She kept saying she was afraid she would let her team down, but in the end she decided to play. And she did a great job! She definitely didn't let her team down. She was aggressive and fast and great at defense. She was a little weak in shooting... just needs to get a little stronger, but I have a feeling before I know it she will be scoring lots of points like her brother.
I thought I might feel a little sad to see her steer away from the "girly" things I used to love.. dance, cheerleading.... but I'm not sad at all. In fact, now, as a mom, I'd be more than happy for her avoid the drama that sometimes goes along with those activities. But, if someday she decides to go back to those things, I'll support her in that, too. I just want her to do what she loves and love doing it!
