Our Little November Get-Away

The weekend of my birthday we met Moppy and Poppy in Pigeon Forge for a little get-away. Matthew, me, Chloe, oh and Spiderman packed up in the van right after work and hit the road!

Chloe immediately found that she could entertain herself with the wicker drawers in a little chest in the hallway and that was the last we heard from her.

Meanwhile, Spiderman continued to fight crime and keep us safe.

Matthew headed out Saturday morning in search of Krispie Kreme doughnuts and returned with IHOP instead, YUM!

It took him longer than expected so we were all pretty much starving. Except the kids who can apparently go days without eating. They took a few nibbles of pancake and bacon and were off again...

Chloe, always conscious of good dental hygiene, brushed her teeth while sitting in the drawer.

See my nice clean teeth?

And she makes sure baby has clean teeth as well.... all while in the drawer of course.
Finally, we made it to Dollywood! You thought all we did was hang out in the condo, right?

In line for the Scrambler!

Mommy and Chloe in front of the giant dollhouse in Santa's workshop.

Evan mailing his letter to Santa.

Evan in front of a giant Connect Four game. Coincidentally we had bought Connect Four the night before and Evan had been playing nonstop with anyone who was willing.

It was a great trip! Believe it or not, it is the first time we've been able to go during Christmas. Every year we plan to, but we never actually find the time to make it. It was the first Christmas weekend and it was SO crowded! The weather was gorgeous which I'm sure added to the crowd. We got to see the show, The Night Before Christmas, which was so good (I cried like I do at all the shows at Dollywood. I don't know what it is). But it was so crowded we didn't get to ride The Polar Express like we wanted or actually sit on Santa's lap. And Babes in Toyland was not open yet. By the time it started getting dark, the kids were really worn out and it was getting pretty cold, so we also skipped the light parade. We really, really want to go back and do those things. But, it is looking like we may not have time once again. Maybe.
