SNOW!

Oh the weather outside is frightful,
but the sleddin's so delightful!
To Grandmother's house we go,
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

We long for a snow where the grass is not sticking out and we don't have to rush out at 9:00 in the morning before it melts, but a little snow is certainly better than none! This was the kids' first time sledding. We have never thought there was enough snow before, but this time Matthew said we were sledding no matter what! So, we headed over to Grandmother and Granddaddy's bright and early. Granddaddy got out my old orange sled, which has been used quite extensively because we used to actually get some big snows when I was a kid. Global warming, I guess. Al Gore warned us about that. Anyway, Matthew headed up the hill with both kids and the sled in tow. Evan made it about three steps and then just had to ride. At the top, Evan got a little nervous, so Matthew and Chloe headed down first. Chloe loved it! Her smile was bright enough to melt the snow. Evan wanted to go down by himself, but he didn't weigh enough to get the sled moving, so he and Matthew headed down. So much fun! We all took some turns and then Matthew pulled the kids around on the Gator for a while. By the time we came inside, everyone was properly soaking wet, frozen, tired... and the snow was almost all gone. All in all, it was a perfect snow day. The only thing that would have made it even more perfect.... if it had been a school day!
